Alma Y Vida is a New York based Band that plays a World Fusion of Jazz
and a South American style of African music called CANDOMBE that was
developed in Uruguay, South America.
Lead by drummer Ramón Echegaray, Alma Y Vida features  also a trio of
TAMBORILES, the typical Uruguayan candombe drums, with guitarist-pianist
Beledo , and Toshi Someya on bass.

of the greatest icons of CANDOMBE, and also Paul Simon’s bass player Bakithi
Kumalo from South Africa.

Over the years in numerous performances in clubs, music festivals, as well as
street parades, and cultural events Alma Y Vida has establish itself as
NEW YORK‘s  unique Candombe-Jazz Band.
